Use Pencil not Pen

Saying “It's God's plan” is easy when everything is going right and is synced up with your goals and timeline. But on a day like today, when NFL Teams have to trim their roster down to 53 men, guys will see their dreams come to an end, or at least deterred, and God’s Plan will be the furthest thing from their mind. However, I would encourage these men, and anyone who finds themselves in a place of discomfort and uncertainty, to seek the Kingdom. Throughout my life, whether I acknowledge it or not, God has been directing me...

Weight off my back!

8/19/2016

For the last 6 years of my career I've been a 6’1” linebacker weighing in between 235 and 255 pounds, depending on the year. So when people find out that while playing in the NFL I weighed 315 pounds and played defensive tackle, they don't believe me. Dog Days

Training camp is a unique experience of 90 individuals coming together to form a team. I've gone through this process as an undrafted free agent, a core franchise player and a veteran free agent. After our first day sessions we had the opportunity to have dinner with the instructors. Getting to know each other, we all shared in a friendly conversation about our careers, the bootcamp and our families. Jason Romano, who works for ESPN and was at the bootcamp as an...

Filling the Gap

6/15/2016

The world we live in is hard enough to navigate in an ideal environment with a safe neighborhood, good schools, and loving parents, but when you start removing instrumental pieces from a child's life, the chances of failure rises significantly. Unfortunately, life isn't ideal, and it definitely isn't fair, and the causes can be debated to the moon and back. But I don't want to focus on why our culture is the way it is, although I would say it's primarily because we have distanced ourselves from Christ, instead I want to highlight men like...
