Lorenzo Alexander (President): Lorenzo, a Bay-Area native is becoming a more and more valuable asset to the Washington Redskins due to his versatility on the field. He is known to be “the guy that comes out of nowhere” according to former coach Joe Gibbs. Originally undrafted, he has worked his way from practice squad to being a Core member of the team playing.  Lorenzo, now considered a veteran and captain on the team, plays multiple position including Outside/Inside Linebacker, Defensive End/Tackle and is a Special teams standout.

As a graduate of the University of California Berkeley, Lorenzo earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies within four years. While excelling academically, Lorenzo was a four year starter for the Golden Bears Football Team. Lorenzo's foundation for excellence was laid at ST. Mary's College High School in Berkeley. In the classroom he excelled and challenged himself by maintaining a 3.8 GPA, and athletically became one of the top recruits in the country.

Lorenzo Alexander was born May 31st, 1983 at Oakland Naval Hospital to Stephanie Moore and Gerald Alexander. Reared by his mother and influenced greatly by his Uncle Steve, Lorenzo learned to respect others, work hard and always believe in himself. Lorenzo has always had a passion for his family, friends, and the community in which he grew up.  In 2010 for his outstanding work in the community, Lorenzo was name the Washington Redskins Walter Payton Man of the Year. He currently lives in Ashburn Virginia with his wife and children.

Donna Moore (Vice President): Donna, graduate of San Francisco State University with a Bachelors Degree in Sociology. Donna has 25 consecutive years of experience working with non-profits serving children and families with 15 years as a Program Director. Donna has experience facilitating support groups, staff trainings and community workshops. She is a native of Oakland, California.

Brandon Nicholson (Program Committee Chair): Much like his Ron Brown Scholar peers, Oakland native Brandon Nicholson has always felt a sense of commitment to promoting equity in the public realm, and particularly in the world of public education. At Princeton University, Brandon pursued his thirst for thinking about solutions to public issues by studying public policy in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Though his main focus was in educational policy, he had the opportunity to engage in semester-long policy task forces on family law (particularly with regards to how child support payments are distributed to families receiving public assistance) and undocumented immigration enforcement policies. Brandon spent also much of his time at Princeton involved in community service. He worked for Community House, a student-coordinated service organization on campus, and engaged in projects including mentoring, tutoring, teaching, and more.

Upon graduating, he received the Priscilla Glickman '92 Memorial Prize,which honors "independence and imagination in the area of service. "Brandon is now working to complete a doctorate in educational policy at the University of California, Berkeley, where his primary interests center on exploring issues of equity in resource allocation in public school districts. Nevertheless, he sometimes struggles with identifying as a "full-time student", as much of his time is spent tutoring student-athletes, working on the executive board of the Black Graduate Student Association, acting as the Graduate Minority Outreach, Recruitment, and Retention project coordinator for the graduate student government, and serving as Apartment Assistant in graduate student housing. Still, Brandon is happy to be working for the betterment of student life and the campus climate, and even happier to be back in his native Bay Area.
